To make the most of your experience, a medical certificate for non-competitive physical activity is required to access Virgin Active Clubs. We ask for it because your health is our top priority: we want every workout to be safe and respectful of your physical well-being. Undergoing a fitness-for-activity medical check-up (at least once a year) helps ensure that you're in the best condition to start—or continue—training with energy and without risks.
In any case, we also recommend undergoing additional tests and specific screenings (such as blood pressure measurement and resting ECG) if deemed appropriate or necessary based on your clinical evaluation, age, or any existing health conditions.
• When should I submit the certificate?
The certificate must be submitted at the time of registration or, at the latest, on your first visit to the Club.
Once expired, a new certificate will be required to continue training and enjoying all Club services without interruption.
Enable push notifications in the app and let it remind you when your certificate is about to expire.
• What if I don’t have a valid certificate on my first visit (or after it expires)?
No worries—we’ve got you covered!
We allow one-time access to the Club while you arrange for your new medical certificate, by signing a specific access form available at the Club Reception.
• Can we help you book your medical check-up?
At most Virgin Active Clubs, you can book your medical visit directly.
To do so, you can ask for assistance at your Club’s Reception or schedule your appointment right away through our self-booking system. Read the article HERE.
